Population figures
From 1831 give an insight into life in the village 170 years ago, the details were written in the back of a volume of Churchwarden's Disbursements for 1827-1831 which is in the Surrey History Centre. The figures don't quite add up, the total number of males is given as 268, but totalling the categories gives 289!
